For HR managers, maintaining compliance is a huge part of the job. The Affordable Care Act (ACA), quarterly tax filings and employee withholding forms are enough to keep every company busy but if you’re in the construction industry, you’ve got to track AAP, EEO, VEVRAA and OFCCP – compliant reports, not to mention OSHA certifications. We’re here for you. That’s why we’ve compiled need-to-know dates by category to help keep you on track and compliant.

Affordable Care Act

  • For 2019, IRS Forms 1094-C and 1095-C must be filed by Feb. 28, 2020 or March 31, 2020, if filed electronically. Any employer that provides health insurance coverage under the ACA needs to submit these forms.
  • If your employee health plan offers prescription drug coverage, you must provide notice of coverage to your Medicare-eligible employees before the next Medicare Part D annual enrollment period begins, which is Oct. 15 to Dec. 7 each year.
  • Enrollment officially begins for 2021 health insurance plans for individuals through the Marketplace on Nov. 1, 2020, with open enrollment beginning on Nov. 15, 2020.
  • Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institutes’s annual fee, reported on Form 720, is due on July 31, 2020. It is based on the average number of lives covered under the policy or plan. The ACA requires users of specified health insurance policies and plan sponsors of applicable self-insured health plans to help fund the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute.

EEO Reporting

  • March 31, 2020, is anticipated to be the deadline for filing 2019 EEO-1 reports. It bears noting that the EEOC is currently in the process of seeking approval under the Paperwork Reduction Act to collect the EEO-1 survey for 2019, 2020 and 2021. When the 2019 survey is officially open, a notice will be posted on the EEOC home page and a notification letter will be sent to eligible EEO-1 filers.
